Core Process Psychotherapy

An integrated holistic approach focusing on mind and body

Core Process Psychotherapy and Mindfulness

Core Process Psychotherapy is one of the original mindfulness-based forms of psychotherapy, established 30 years ago. It is a contemplative practice drawing on Buddhist principles and Western psychology theory. At the heart of this practice is the premise that at our core we are inherently free and conscious.

As we journey through life our core state can become obscured by the impact of the world we live in and our reaction to it. At times we may find we are struggling in our lives and feelings of isolation or fear may arise as we begin to disconnect from ourselves and others. A profound sense of loss can be experienced at these times as we lose sight of who we are and we may feel that life has no meaning. Through therapy we have the opportunity to explore these complexities and peek beneath our veils, revealing our true self....

This practise is an integrated holistic approach focusing on mind and body to gain a deeper understanding of our experience. The use of mindfulness in therapy has vast benefits including a deeply positive affect in managing and reducing emotional stress and anxiety. As we learn to bring mindful attention to our arising sensations, thoughts and emotions in the present moment we create the space to slow down and reflect on our experience. This refinement of awareness promotes a healthy sense of well-being and the possibility of change as we confront our unconscious habitual patterning, making way for a fuller and more spontaneous way of being.

The time I've personally spent in therapy has brought deep and long-lasting transformation to my life and I genuinely love to offer this beneficial support to others. Psychotherapy provides a safe space for reflection; an opportunity to get to know ourselves better so that we may connect to our authentic self and experience life and relationships with greater freedom.
